Using box selection then pressing delete empties the sketch, only the root point stays visible. After emptying the sketch, the grid and axes do not come back. But starting the circle tool again and drawing a new circle, the grid snap is still active even if hidden.
In my sketcher if I create a line, then try to create a curve tangent to it using the arc with tangent ends tool, the arc will not snap to the end of the line that is already there. I currently have to place an arbitrary arc then use both the coincident constraint and the tangent constraint in order to attach it to the line.
Snap to grid works nicely in Sketcher, but there is problem when dragging a line. IN this case snap to grid only works if a mouse location is next to grid. It would be nice if line "Snaps" if one of it's endpoints is also near grid. Regards, Petar: Tags: #lowhangingfruit, #post-to-forum, snap: FreeCAD Information

Freecad uses a system of constraints. Each item must have a unique position in the plan. Each item must have a unique position in the plan. Each point of the drawing can move in X and Y , so we say that a point has two degrees of freedom. I suspect it would be easiest to import the individual components and make a new assembly in F360.
Jul 11, 2017 · If you're still in the active sketch you should be able to select all the sketch elements, right-click, and choose "Move". That will allow you to move all selected sketch entities together without them moving in relation to each other. If that isn't what you need, then as others have said, better information will get you better answers.
I found Freecad and it seemed to be rather nice in having lots of different modes, drawing, architectural, sketch etc. However I have then been getting confused deciding which of the tools to use. Sep 30, 2010 · I worked with WF 2.0 and I am now on WF 5.0, but as far as I remember it has always worked like this: if you draw the square as you said and then add a point, this point can snap to the middle of the square edge OR to the reference line. You can place it on the middle with the automatic snap, then add a constraint to snap it on the reference line.
Snapping means "gluing" your next point onto an existing point or feature of another object. Snapping is available with most Draft and Arch Workbench tools, and can be enabled and disabled globally with the Toggle snap button, located in the snap toolbar: View → Toolbars → Draft Snap.

Jun 12, 2013 · An often overlooked carryover from 2D CAD systems, the Snap-to-Grid method provides a convenient means for quickly drawing a sketch with relative accuracy, while also leaving the entire sketch free to manipulate. The preliminary spline sketch shown here is an example of a sketch type that lends itself well to the Grid / Snap approach.
